Nivian jumped over the edge of the bridge, landing with a soft tap on the surface of the water. She reached down, pulled the soul of the driver up by the collar of his shirt, and stood him up next to her on top of the water. She took the drivers hand palm up in hers, waving her other hand over his. She pinched the air and pulled, lifting up and exposing his life string, his wide eyes were hypnotized by the glowing string. She grabbed the scythe strapped to her back and swung. With a slow deliberate movement she sliced the human’s thread. The light formed a ball and hovered as she pulled out the small pocket watch. The life light floated down to the watch and sunk into it, disappearing. With a snap, she closed the watch and returned it to her pocket.
“You really shouldn’t drink and drive; you could have seriously hurt someone,” she said giving him an apathetic look. He gaped at her, mouth opening and closing like a fish. “Yes, you really are dead.” She confirmed as she started to turn away.
“Are you … the devil?” he managed to sputter.
“No, of course not. I am just the natural order of things,” she said, briefly looking back at him. “Wait here; your spirit counselor will be here soon for you to guide you to your afterlife. I have other jobs tonight,” She turned, walking away as she pulled her hood back up over her head and vanished.

Sage Spelling bio
Sage Spelling fell in love with the romance genre long before she realized her dreams of becoming a writer. As a small child, she was fascinated with fairytales and remembers curling into her mother’s side while her mother would spin tales of faraway worlds, where they all lived happily ever after. Nowadays, Sage tells her own tales of the happily ever after, but with a sexy and passionate twist. She’s a believer of love at first sight, and that love concurs all.
In-between her very boring day job and writing sexy stories, she is in the process of attaining her Bachelor’s Degree in English and Creative Writing. Inked Hearts is her first publication. Find Sage at http://sagespelling.com/about/, Facebook, or tweet her at @SSpellingAuthor.
Excerpt from High Stakes –
Blake refused to let me walk back to my dorm on my own when we left the bar. My one hour dinner had turned into three hours alone with Blake. He walked really close to me, and I enjoyed the warmth of his body shielding some of the gruesome wind. He insisted I wear his scarf again, and his scent made my insides warm. When we reached my door, I stood one step above him so we were at eye level. I took off his scarf and wrapped it around his neck.
“You can keep it.” he insisted, placing his hand over mine.
“Thank you, but you have a long walk yourself.”
“No, it’s not that far.”
“Aren’t you at the frat house?”
“Nope, I have a condo right down the street with Mitch and two other roommates.”
“Oh.” I stared down at his chest, too embarrassed to look him in the eyes.
He lifted my chin with his finger and his stare burned into mine. My heart pounded in my ears. He was so close I could smell the mixture of beer and mint on his breath, and the sensation of the warm air of his mouth on my chin made my stomach do that flip-flop thing again.
“Are we ever going to talk about the night of the party?” His question took me by surprise. I’d been hoping he wouldn’t bring it up.
“No.”
“Was I that bad of a kisser?” he whispered.
“No . . . it was a mistake, Blake, and since I’m your tutor now, it can never happen again.”
“So you liked kissing me?” He was so close I couldn’t think straight.
“Yes . . . I mean . . . Blake, please, can we forget about that night?” Heat flushed my face.
“Anything you want, Supergirl.” He leaned in and kissed my cheek. “Goodnight.”
“Night,” I managed to mumble. My legs wobbled toward the door and I looked back to see him still there, waiting for me to be safely inside. I gave him a small wave and closed the door behind me. I leaned against the door and attempted to catch my breath. There was some serious chemistry between us, and even with my inexperience, I sensed it. And it scared the hell out of me.

Damnation

Title: Damnation
Series: Dyphillum Series #2
Author: Elizabeth Montgomery
Genre: PNA Romance
Release Date: May 8, 2015

Cecily, Isaac, and Julian have worked together to defeat one evil. Can they survive another?

In order to save herself from the twisted fate Sadina, the creator of the Dyphillum, has in store for her, Cecily will be forced to find the most powerful magic she possesses – or become nothing more than the mother of an army of immortal bent to take over the world.

Sadina has to die, but would that erase all of the spells she has cast? Would history be rewritten without the Dyphillum race?

With help from an unlikely ally and opposition from the elders, the trio is forced to reach deeper than ever before to defeat this great evil.

Isaac's POV

“Who is Sadina?” Cecily asked again.
“She is no one we need to be messin’ with,” Ezrah said as he gathered the dried bullets putting them into a clip belonging to his .40 cal.
“Sadina is a witch, one of the strongest alive as a matter of fact,” Julian said walking around the side of the house, “She put a curse on a pack of shifters all because her wee lil heart was broken, Lucas said she may have something to do with all of this. Little tidbit of info, she is also the creator of the Dyphillum clan, which kind of makes her untouchable.”
“Why would she be untouchable?” Cecily asked as she sat down next to Ezrah.
“All the power that we have from our witch side was given to us by Sadina, it was passed down by genetics and becomes stronger as more Dyphillum are born but will never be enough to take her on head to head,” I said as I walked over to the both of them. Julian hung back by the house, close enough to be part of the conversation but far enough to keep his eyes on the woods that surrounded us.
“So she is kind of like the mother of the clan?” Cecily cocked her head to the side looking confused.
“Your parents never told you about her?” Julian asked with one eyebrow raised in surprise.
“No, haven’t heard of her till today, what does she have to do with the possession of the elders?” She was looking at the ground, I could feel she was embarrassed that she didn’t know any of this.
“She is someone you don’t want to piss off and somehow the Dyphillum have done just that, this is what we need to figure out, Jules, does Lucas have more answers?” I asked taking Cecily’s hand and gently rubbing my thumb over her knuckles, just then I heard some branches crack and by the way everyone’s heads turned, so did they.

Author Elizabeth Montgomery was born in Williamsburg, Virginia and raised a hop, skip, and a jump away in Yorktown, Virginia. Paranormal inspiration was easily obtained during her childhood in these colorful towns. This helped to spur her love of Paranormal romance stories, but she also enjoys reading YA and NA.

She is currently raising four children and a husband while elbow-deep in the depths of the writing cave. You can often find her searching on Google for an appropriate, or sometimes inappropriate, photo to insert in any random conversation. If not on Google, or Facebook chat, she can be found drinking coffee (like any normal writer), eating Gummy Bears, baking fanciful cakes, reading (of course), or writing (duh).

“I always wondered what authors meant when they said that their characters tell them what to write – I get it now!”

Sure, she's curious about her biological father—the one who chose life in a motorcycle club, the Reign of Terror, over being a parent—but that doesn't mean she wants to be a part of his world. But when a reluctant visit turns to an extended summer vacation among relatives she never knew she had, one thing becomes clear: nothing is what it seems. Not the club, not her secret-keeping father and not Oz, a guy with suck-me-in blue eyes who can help her understand them both. Oz wants one thing: to join the Reign of Terror. They're the good guys. They protect people. They're…family. And while Emily—the gorgeous and sheltered daughter of the club's most respected member—is in town, he's gonna prove it to her. So when her father asks him to keep her safe from a rival club with a score to settle, Oz knows it's his shot at his dream. What he doesn't count on is that Emily just might turn that dream upside down. No one wants them to be together. Goodreads | Website | Twitter | Facebook | Pinterest | Instagram           Exclusive Excerpt: Lisa opens the door still in her pajama pants and a tank top. Jack’s behind her in nothing but a pair of sweatpants. I raise an eyebrow in silent judgment. How could she have Jack spend the night with Colin here? “Where’s Colin?” she asks, looking past me. “What do you mean, where’s Colin? Isn’t he here?” “No. He never came home last night. I thought he was with you.” “You were with me.” “No, I mean after we separated. I figured he showed up at your place.” Her cheeks turn bright red. “You’ve got to be kidding me.” My hands ball into fists of anger at my sides. “You can’t really be that…” I bite off the words. It’s not my place to share how Colin feels about her. “He probably left with one of those girls we saw him with,” she says. I push into her apartment and find Colin’s duffel bag on the floor where it’s been since he began camping out on her couch last week. “So, he just blew off his train?” “Maybe,” she shrugs. “Not likely,” I say, stalking back outside, unease gnawing through my stomach. If all this other shit wasn’t going on, I could chalk it up to Colin getting laid, but I can’t shake the feeling something isn’t right. I’m halfway to Bryce’s before I realize that’s where I’m headed. Hopefully he takes me seriously. My fast walk turns into a jog as I cover the remaining three blocks and two flights of stairs down to the apartment he shares with Jack. I’ve only been here once before, but I think I remember which one it is. I lift my hand and knock on the pale blue door then pace the small empty concrete porch. Thirty seconds pass before I knock again, louder and longer this time. Still no answer. I’m beginning to think he’s not here when the lock clicks and the door cracks open. Bryce swings the door wider, and my eyes zero in on a bare chest. My gaze drifts from his firm abs and pecs up to meet a pair of gray eyes, squinted against the morning light. Confusion fills his features as he stares at me. “Colin didn’t come home last night,” I blurt out, my voice breaking. His gaze rests on my face for a moment before circling the room, reminding me we’re being monitored. “I’m sure he’s fine, but let me get dressed, and we’ll look for him.” Stepping inside, I close the door and bounce on the balls of my feet while I wait for him. The place is decorated in neo-classic guy. A fireplace and hearth runs the length of the front of the apartment, and opposite that is a solid glass wall overlooking a weedy, overgrown garden. The limited furniture is a jumble of chairs, a couch, and a couple of mismatched tables littered with empty beer bottles. Bryce dresses in record time and takes my hand, pulling me outside. He leads the way to the depot to catch a train back to the nightclub. “I want to retrace his steps after we left,” he says. “He might’ve just found some company for the evening.” “That’s what Lisa said, but I think there’s more to it.” “It’s no secret how he feels about Lisa. He might’ve just wanted to get away for the night.” “But his bag is still at her place. He would’ve had to come get it before catching his train.” The nightclub is deserted with the exception of a handful of staff still cleaning up. Bryce walks up to a lanky guy pushing a broom. “Can I talk to the manager?” A woman in her mid-thirties approaches us a few minutes later, wiping her hands on an apron. She sweeps a chunk of blond hair out of her face with the back of her wrist. “Can I help you?” “Yeah, I’m Detective Cooper,” Bryce says, flashing his credentials. “We’re looking for a friend. He was here with us last night, but we’re not sure what happened to him.” She glances between me and Bryce. “Did something happen to him?” “That’s what we’re trying to find out. Can we take a look at the security feed from last night?” “Sure,” she says, inclining her head. “Come on back.” We follow her past the bar and into a small office beyond the kitchen. “Here,” she says, indicating a chair in front of a display screen. Bryce sits and she shows him how to move through the video files. Bryce locates the one time-stamped from when we were here and forwards through frame-by-frame. I see us leaving for the night and Colin dancing with the girls, getting another drink, dancing some more, then about an hour later, Colin walks toward the exit alone. A guy in a sweatshirt, hood pulled up, hands shoved into his jeans pockets, approaches Colin. They appear to exchange words. Colin nods before following the guy out the front door. “What the hell?” I ask. “Who was that guy?” Terror sweeps through me, turning my blood to ice. “And where the hell is Colin?” “I don’t know,” Bryce says, reaching over to squeeze my hand. “But we’ll find him, I promise.”   About the Cover Designer: Illustrator Mark SgarbossaMark Sgarbossa is an award-winning artist from San Diego, California.
